Membership Terms and Conditions

general terms

Members must be over 18 years old. On joining, you agree to provide a recent photograph for the purposes of identification on our membership software. We will not be liable to you for any loss, damage or theft of any property, vehicle, or property within a vehicle, that you bring onto or leave at our site, including the car park. There may be occasions where we are required to close all, or part of, Energise Pentney Health Club. In such circumstances, you will not be entitled to any partial or full refund. This includes the Outdoor Vitality Pool in high winds where it would be unsafe to allow access. We will endeavour to advise you in advance where possible through our social media pages unless the issue is urgent or an emergency. We reserve the right to reduce or increase opening hours and our Pool Timetable. This will be communicated via email to our mailing list and via our website. We will not be liable for or responsible for any failure to perform any of our obligations under this agreement which are caused by any event that is outside our reasonable control. We can make reasonable changes to these terms and conditions at any time. Such terms will be shown in conjunction with any offer or agreement and may supersede these terms which will be agreed in writing. Management reserves the right to refuse service or membership orcancel memberships. These terms were last updated on 14/04/21.

health & safety

Our staff, agents and subcontractors are not medically qualified so if you have any doubts about your fitness or capability to exercise, we strongly recommend that you get advice from a doctor first. You will be required to complete and sign a medical questionnaire on joining, and it is your responsibility to make us aware of any conditions that may affect use. Please be aware that none of our facilities, including our swimming pool and outdoor heated vitality pool, are under constant supervision. If you have a medical condition that may affect your safety or wellbeing, we strongly advise you are accompanied whilst on site. For safety reasons, you are responsible for correctly using all facilities and reading information signs and agree to keep to the conditions of your membership, which are available within Energise Pentney and online. We strongly advise that all members complete an induction to the gym, and you should ask for one if we do not offer you one. If you are not sure how to use any equipment, you can refer to our online videos hereor ask a member of staff for assistance. Members may bring guests to use the facilities at Energise Pentney Health Club in accordance with our Guest Policy. Personal Trainers (PTs) at Energise Pentney Health Club are self-employed and any service they provide or any other third party provides is a contract between them and you. We will not be liable for, or responsible for, any monies paid to a PT or other third party. Personal Training and other third party services are arranged directly with the trainer or third party and not with ourselves.

By joining, you are agreeing to comply with our ‘Gym, Spa and Pool etiquettes’, which are displayed within Energise Pentney Health Club, and online at energise-pentney.co.uk. We may change our etiquette policies if necessary, and you will be notified via email should changes be made. Members may add children in their family on to their monthly membership, and are responsible for them whilst on our premises. Children must be supervised at all times, with a ratio of one adult per two children. Energise Health & Fitness Limited reserves the right to terminate your membership at any time should Management feel that you have acted or behaved unreasonably, or in a manner that causes offence or harm to our members, guests or staff, or anti-socially. For the benefit of doubt, this includes; homophobic, sexist, transphobic, discriminatory, racist or otherwise anti-social behaviour, with a zero-tolerance policy. We encourage members to report any instances of anti-social behaviour to Management via email to reception@energise-pentney.co.uk for the matter will be dealt with by Management.

membership payments

Memberships can be paid annually in one lump sum, or monthly, by Debit or Credit Card. We do not accept Standing Orders or cash payments. 

monthly membership 

Your membership payments will be collected monthly and will be collected by Debit or Credit Card until you cancel your instruction with your bank (see Cancellation of Your Membership). If you fall behind with your membership fees and this is not caused by a bank error, we may charge reasonable administration fees or suspend or cancel your membership; and we may pass your details to a debt-collection company to recover any outstanding payments.

When paying for a monthly membership, the due date for your payment will be collected on either the 1st or 15th of every month. If payment has not been received by this date, you will be refused admittance to Energise Pentney Health Club until payment has been received. We may decide to increase our Membership fees, or introduce administration fees, but your fees will not increase during your current membership. We will give you a minimum of 14 days' notice of any fee changes.

annual membership

Annual membership is paid in one lump sum, and your 12-month membership will begin from that date. We will only review your membership fees when your membership is due for renewal.

The Joining Fee is payable on joining, along with the first month’s membership fee. Our Blue Light (for active employees of the armed forces, emergency services and NHS) discount does not apply to the Joining Fee. The direct debit for your membership fee amount will start from the second month. New members will receive £25 credit to spend with Revive Treatment Rooms upon payment of the joining fee. 

annual membership

The Joining Fee is not applicable to Annual Memberships. If you choose to join as an annual member (with a new, or renewing, membership) you will receive £25 gift voucher to spend with Revive Treatment Rooms; valid for 12 months.

cancellation of your membership

For the avoidance of any doubt, your membership can only be cancelled by letter or email to reception@energise-pentney.co.uk and cannot be cancelled over the phone.

We are entitled to keep any membership fees we receive if you have not cancelled your payment. No refunds will be issued once payment has been received.

If you cancel your membership and choose to re-join Energise Pentney at a later date, you will be charged the current membership rate, if applicable. You must email us at reception@energise-pentney.co.uk to let us know you are cancelling your Membership.

Membership cards are the property of Energise Health and Fitness Limited. On cancellation of your membership you are required to return your membership card(s) in person to Energise Pentney Health Club, or by post to: Energise Pentney Health Club Low Road, Pentney, King’s Lynn, Norfolk PE32 1JF.

annual membership

If you choose to join on an Annual Membership, your membership will automatically end once you have completed this term, unless you choose to renew your membership. No refunds will be issued once payment has been received.

Membership cards are the property of Energise Health and Fitness Limited. On expiry of your membership, if you do not wish to renew, you are required to return your membership card(s) in person to Energise Pentney Fitness & Spa, or by post to Energise Pentney Health Club, Low Road, Pentney, King’s Lynn, Norfolk PE32 1JF.
